A buzzing sense of excitement permeates the atmosphere behind the scenes at the Erdem London Fashion Week 2017 show. On edge hair and make-up teams frantically hairspray and powder the set of nervous and elated models whilst seamstresses pin and hem the exravagant flowing gowns that trail across the floor for being just a few centimetres too long. Lights dim and the music starts as we line up in the order we’ve rehearsed at least twenty times. After the show, designers and models mingle with the A-list celebrities and socialites while the champagne and cocktails flow freely. London Fashion Week is a demon- -stration of the best in the industry and a chance for new up and coming designers to make their mark in the fashion community.

 

It also boasts the opportunity for young models, like myself, to cement themselves into the modelling sphere and experience one of the most extravagant displays of luxury coture fashion in the world. I have to say that the absolute highlight of my first experience at London Fashion Week was walking Versace, a brand I've followed religiously since my early teens. Donatella has such an incredible talent and to work with her was a total dream come true!

 

As well as giving me some of the best memories of my life so far, fashion week really taught me about the dedication and hard work you have to put in to make it in the industry and I have so much respect for those that have and continue to create such incredible works of art through their design and direction
